Easter Holidays To The Canaries

Easter in Lanzarote is a fantastic choice for a spring getaway, offering warm temperatures, beautiful beaches, and unique cultural experiences. With average temperatures ranging between 22-26°C, visitors can enjoy plenty of sunshine and comfortable sea conditions, perfect for swimming and outdoor activities. The island’s mild climate makes it an ideal destination for those looking to escape colder weather and soak up some early summer sun.

Lanzarote, Canaries Holidays

Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. As with the rest of the Canary Islands it is volcanic in origin which gives it an unusual and fascinating landscape. In fact the island has a UNESCO Biosphere protected status. Local building regulations prohibit any high rise buildings so all you'll find is low rise white-washed resorts.

Enjoying a mild, dry climate with temperatures averaging around 24°C in April, Lanzarote is the perfect year-round holiday destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. Sunway can take you there! We feature the popular resorts of Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca, Matagorda, and Puerto Calero, offering both self-catering and hotel options to suit all preferences. Whether you're looking to relax on golden beaches, explore volcanic landscapes, or indulge in local cuisine, Lanzarote in April provides the ideal setting for an unforgettable getaway.

The beaches in Lanzarote offer a mixture of white sand, golden sand and black sand and all usually accompanied by a pleasant sea breeze. From large sprawling beaches to small coves there is plenty to choose from. Water sports, especially wind surfing, are very popular in Lanzarote.

The Timanfaya National Park, including Fire Mountain is probably the most visited attraction on the island. A 17th century volcanic eruption destroyed the whole southern region of the island and left an eerie lunar-like landscape in its place. A must see for all Lanzarote holiday visitors! Another amazing volcanic feature is the Atlantida Tunnel, at over 7km it is the longest volcanic tunnel in the world and incorporates both the Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de Los Verdes. The famous Lanzarote born artist, Caesar Manrique, helped to turn these caves into a spectacle with swimming pools, restaurants, gardens and even an auditorium all blending into the volcanic landscape. There are many excursion opportunities on the island, from sailing trips, to full or half day trips around the island to even visiting the nearby island of Fuerteventura.

Lanzarote, as with the rest of the Canary Islands, are duty free so plenty of shopping opportunities for you! Electrical goods, tobacco, alcohol and perfumes being amongst the best bargains. There are numerous boutiques, supermarkets, souvenir shops and shopping centres in the island resorts. Local markets are also popular, especially in Costa Teguise which hosts the islands largest open air market every Sunday.

While Lanzarote is considered a quieter island in terms of nightlife than its Canarian counterpart Tenerife, there are still plenty of sports bars and family bars to choose from. With a few discos' around too! Irish bars are popular where you'll nearly always find live music. You'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to restaurants, from the traditional Canarian / Spanish cuisine, to Italian, to Chinese, to Indian, to steak houses and fish restaurants. Be sure to try some of the local dishes though, including traditional soups and stews, the green and red Mojo sauces and goats cheeses to name but a few. All pleasantly washed down with some of the local wines!

Whether you are looking for a lazy beach holiday or a fun filled adventure Lanzarote has it all!
