There are so many really memorable things about Cyprus, such as the pretty architecture, the warm year round climate and the myriad of local bars and restaurants. Above all, it's the friendliness of the Cypriots that everyone loves to remember. Like the Irish, these islanders are warm & hospitable and enjoy welcoming new people into their country.
Whether heading for Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos or Protaras the facilities are excellent from the wide choice of hotels, to the wonderful water-sports & sandy beaches. Cyprus has something for everyone. English is widely spoken and many road signs are posted in both Greek and English. There's also plenty for culture vultures; discover the nine frescoed Byzantine churches in the Troodos Massif, visit the Tombs of the Kings, an underground necropolis dating back to 3rd Century BC or cycle through the mountains, taking in the vistas and Cyprus' distinctive flora and fauna.
In Protaras, Larnaca Area, Cyprus
Location
Protaras is a purpose-built resort on the southeastern coast of Cyprus. The reason it’s here is the sandy patchwork of beaches that blankets the rugged coastline – which is a real draw in itself for the scenic walks. It’s a fairly compact place, so you’ll find the lively bars and restaurants right on the main street. And when you want to really let your hair down, the clubs and bars of Ayia Napa are just a 10-minute taxi ride away.
Facilities
Days here can be spent lounging next to the huge pool, or diving into activities like wine-tasting sessions and tennis. You’ve got one à la carte restaurant for evening meals, and a buffet that’s open all day. And there’s the lobby bar to consider for after-dark daiquiris. Lastly, there's a peaceful spa, with facilities that include a pampering room for couples.
There’s a big splash-shaped pool outside with plenty of loungers, daybeds and parasols by the water. And, when you need a drink, you can swim right up to the well-stocked bar.
